Terms of Service
Last updated: April 26, 2026
These Terms of Service govern use of the Platoon website and related services. We kept them practical and readable because that is how the product is built too.
1. Use of Service
Platoon provides software and communication tools for firefighter unions, fire departments, and their members. You may use the service only in a lawful way and only for its intended communication, scheduling, coordination, and operations purposes.
2. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for maintaining the security of your account, and for using Platoon in a way that matches your department, union, or organization rules.
3. Acceptable Use
You may not use Platoon to violate the law, interfere with the service, impersonate others, send spam, harass users, or distribute harmful or misleading content. We may limit or suspend access if use puts the platform or other users at risk.
4. Text Messaging Terms
Platoon may send informational text messages related to account activity, shift trade alerts, scheduling notifications, union announcements, events, polls, and messaging or activity alerts.
Users opt in to receive messages through account registration, department onboarding, and notification preference settings. Consent to receive messages is not a condition of purchase.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help. Users may also manage notification preferences in the app when available.
Support for Platoon messaging is available at support@platoonapp.com.
5. Intellectual Property
Platoon, including its branding, website content, software, and related materials, is owned by Platoon or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership to you.
6. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
Platoon is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every feature will always be error free.
To the extent permitted by law, Platoon is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
7. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date on this page.
